At a May 27 work session the Town of Thompson Planning Board reviewed the draft SEQR scoping document for the Rosewood Project, with consulting planner Kevin Schwenzfeier presenting a chart of steps to satisfy SEQR.
Board members and staff identified wetlands as the project’s primary impact for the Town and said the scoping document lacks a thorough alternatives analysis. They also flagged emergency-access shortcomings: the plan’s two proposed bridges to the recreation area were called inadequate for emergency vehicles. Board members said they also need a traffic-impact analysis to confirm traffic flow and safety.
Project attorney George Duke told the Board his clients had to cancel at the last minute and asked that comments be relayed; Duke said the team would reschedule so the full project team can attend. Consulting attorney Steve Vegliante and Planner Schwenzfeier asked the Board to compile and submit any additional comments to Vegliente so they can be sent to the applicant as a single consolidated document.
The Board did not take a formal vote at the work session and requested a future meeting with the applicant’s full team and additional technical reports, including the traffic analysis and an updated wetland delineation.
