Random Lake trustees approve consent agenda, staff say WWTP property sale closed and annexation will begin

The Random Lake Village Board approved a five-item consent agenda and heard staff reports about a recently completed land sale tied to a new wastewater treatment plant.
President Duane Urbanski called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and trustees voted 6-0 to approve items including the Feb. 16 meeting minutes and various March 3 checks after Trustee Blaine Werner moved to approve and Trustee Barbara Ruege seconded.
Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Waala reported that the final sale of the property for the new wastewater treatment plant was completed Friday, Feb. 27, and said the village will start the annexation process for that property. The board did not take a formal action on annexation at the March 2 meeting; Waala described the next administrative steps staff will pursue.
DPW Director Peter Lederer summarized recent Public Works activity: two employees attended a water class; street sweeping began to pick up leftover fall leaves; speed limit signs were installed on Orth Drive and Carroll Street; and construction started on the E Shore Drive lift station. Lederer said staff are also training new employees on village tasks.
Committee chairs announced upcoming meetings for Lake, Parks and Recreation, Beautification and Public Works. President Urbanski closed staff reports with a reminder about daylight-saving time and a public-safety note to change smoke-detector batteries.
The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
