Glassboro council elects Anna Miller as council president, announces 2026 committee lineups

Anna Miller was elected council president at the Borough of Glassboro’s Jan. 3 reorganization meeting, where the mayor and council also swore in returning members, announced the 2026 committee rosters and approved the consent agenda by roll call.

Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order and the borough clerk read the statutory notice required under the Open Public Meetings Act, noting the 2025 schedule had been posted and filed with the clerk’s office. The gathering opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a performance of the National Anthem by Glassboro Select Choir member Jasmine Laurel Morales.

Reverend Tim Conway of the First United Methodist Church delivered the invocation. Council members then participated in the swearing-in ceremony for newly elected and returning members, including remarks of thanks from those taking office.

A council member nominated Anna Miller for council president; the motion received a second and the body voted by voice, with the mayor declaring the motion carried. Mayor Wallace then announced committee chairmanships and memberships for 2026, assigning council members to public safety, highway, water and sewer, finance, health/welfare/recreation, public property and ordinance, planning board, library and human services, housing authority and historic preservation roles.

The borough solicitor introduced the consent agenda resolutions for the evening and asked for approval. A motion and second were made, roll call was taken and the mayor declared the consent agenda approved. Several council members offered brief remarks thanking family, borough employees, volunteers and regional partners. Borough Administrator Ed Milandro thanked staff and praised the council’s willingness to pursue change in service to residents.

With no members of the public stepping forward during the public-comment portion, the council closed that segment and adjourned. Mayor Wallace announced the next regular meeting for Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
