County backs enterprise‑zone expansion and awards courthouse flooring contract for $51,116

On facilities, staff recommended awarding the courthouse flooring replacement contract to Continental Flooring Company for Option B at $51,116, citing durability and cost efficiency. The board moved, seconded and approved the award subject to final contract negotiation and required insurance and certifications.
During discussion a resident raised concerns about courthouse accessibility, describing the current elevator as effectively a dumbwaiter and saying staff and litigants have trouble using it. County staff acknowledged the accessibility shortfall, said they are studying options and that installing a fully compliant elevator would require a significant future remodel and funding.
Next steps: staff will finalize the flooring contract, begin required pre‑construction coordination, and continue studying accessibility upgrades and enterprise‑zone coordination with Region 10 and town partners.
