Roseau council approves routine consent items, donation resolutions and election judge appointments

The Roseau City Council on June 1 approved routine financial and administrative business, including the May 4, 2026 meeting minutes and a consent agenda that added Resolution Nos. 30-26 and 31-26 and the May 2026 revenues-and-expenditures report. Clerk-Treasurer Elizabeth Carlson presented accounts payable, daily checks, payroll and journal entries for council review.
The council adopted Resolution 28-26 (accepting $2,610 from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council for the Civic & Commerce Fall Festival), Resolution 29-26 (accepting $1,830 from the Northwest Regional Library for Gazebo Night Concerts), and Resolution 30-26 (accepting $750 from Polaris Industries for Gazebo Night Concerts). The council also adopted Resolution 31-26 appointing named election judges for the August and November 2026 elections per Minnesota Statutes.
Other actions taken by unanimous consent included approving the use of the south parking lot for an Early Head Start Hot Wheel event on June 23, 2026 (applicants to coordinate logistics with Police and Public Works), authorizing Houston Engineering to advertise the Highway 11 Frontage Road extension project for bids pending State approval, and approving a deed restriction required by a state grant for the Roseau River Pedestrian Bridge project.
