Officials brief Grafton council on Red River Valley Water Supply Project, request commitments

DeKrey and Gadde reviewed the project plan and costs, and told the council that the Public Utilities Commission will discuss the matter in December. They emphasized that being “in” the project would help guarantee a stable, reliable water supply and support economic development; the minutes record those benefits but do not detail funding commitments or specific cost shares for Grafton.
Council members did not record a formal vote on participation at this meeting; the presenters asked for commitments and indicated additional action would be considered as the project moves through state and federal review.
