A reader presented written testimony from Miguel Pittman, senior chair of the Hill North Community Management Team, saying the group "does not support the proposed demolition and conversion of this property into a surface parking lot" and asking Yale and the city to pause the project and continue discussions with neighborhood stakeholders to explore alternatives and provide more information about the site's long‑term plans.
Yale representatives told the committee the proposed lot would be restricted to temporary construction contractors and controlled by key card access; they said the lot itself would be permanent infrastructure but the intended limited use is contractor parking and the university would return to the board if the use changed. Alders and presenters said Yale has held or will hold neighborhood meetings and that the proposal also responds to recurring complaints of construction workers parking on adjacent streets.
Following the public submission and a short discussion, the committee closed public comment and announced it would pass over the Medical Area Overall Parking Plan item for 69 Davis Street without further discussion that evening. No formal vote on the Davis Street parking plan was taken during the meeting.
