Commission approves local historic designation for 3137 33rd Street

Staff cited Sacramento Municipal Code article 17604210 and recommended finding the action exempt from environmental review under CEQA Guideline 15308 and forwarding a recommendation to City Council.
Commissioner Nicols moved to include the property on the local register; Commissioner Slodkin seconded. The Commission approved the motion by voice vote; the transcript records at least one abstention but does not provide a roll-call tally. The motion carried.
Bezz told commissioners the house was built in 1901 and retains defining Queen Anne features, and staff noted the owner engaged an architectural historian (Cross) to prepare an evaluation that supports the nomination. The staff report said no owner objections were received before the hearing.
By forwarding the nomination, the Commission's action sends the item to City Council for final consideration under the city's historic-preservation ordinance.
