The Chair opened the meeting, called for approval of minutes and the agenda, and said the authority would notify appellants in writing of tonight's decisions. A staff member summarized the body's options on appeals, saying the authority “has the ability to affirm, modify or reverse the plan commission decision” and that written notices would be sent to each person who filed an appeal.
After the staff explanation the Chair moved “to affirm the decision of the planning commission granting the fill permit under petition number 2601” and noted the motion was based on written and on-the-record evidence and municipal rules governing fill permits. During new business the board approved a property-owner request to remove a locust tree that was growing in an easement at 7798 Tanager Street. The authority also approved a refund of building permit number 2657 for Windham Nation and moved to release the performance bond for Lumen's Logistics pending placement of a maintenance bond. The motion on the bond release was approved on the condition that the maintenance bond be in place before the performance bond is released.
On an unsafe-building item for 300 West Old Bridge Road, a meeting participant reported that the property owner had submitted paperwork to the planning commission for a one-lot subdivision and would demolish the house upon approval; the authority set the unsafe-building matter over to April 15 to allow the planning process to proceed.
The meeting included brief announcements — including a State of the City event on April 1 — and a report that a reenergized after-school program had drawn more than 40 children at its first session. The board adjourned after concluding other agenda items.
