Tarrant City — At its Dec. 17 meeting the Tarrant City Schools Board of Education approved a slate of routine business items, including the agenda, minutes from Nov. 19, 2024, November financial reports and reconciled bank statements, multiple contracts, an athletic supplement, a School Bus Driver role description and a personnel action sheet.
Superintendent Dr. Sherlene McDonald presented each item and recommended approval. Motions were made and seconded by board members as recorded in the minutes; all items were approved unanimously by the five voting members present (Sheaka Collins, Jesse Mendez, Allen Bailey, Debbie Hall and Laura Horton).
The minutes record each approval but do not provide granular detail on the contracts’ vendors, the athletic supplement’s compensation figures, or personnel action specifics beyond the fact that the Personnel Action Sheet was approved. The board’s approvals enable district staff to proceed with implementation consistent with administrative processes and appropriate follow-up reporting.
Other agenda items included announcements about fundraisers, field trips, vacancies, LED sign plans for TIS and THS, and a tabulation of bids for demolition of the old THS auditorium and band room (covered separately). The meeting concluded after the board reconvened from executive session and approved final superintendent recommendations and adjourned.
