Commissioners accept sheriff’s 2025 jail report and approve board appointments and payroll

The Daviess County Board of Commissioners unanimously accepted the Sheriff's Office 2025 year-end jail report and completed several administrative actions Tuesday.
Sheriff Gary Allison presented the year-end jail report; the board approved the report as presented. Separately, the board approved a three-year land lease with Ron Seal for the Community Corrections building parcel after Michael Keith noted the county owns the building but not the land.
The board approved Leslie Heshelman to replace Debbie Goodwin on the Visitor's Bureau/Tourism Commission; Goodwin is transitioning to become the Visitor's Bureau executive director. Commissioners also accepted Jeremy Tooley's resignations from the County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) and the PTABOA following his election to the City BZA.
Commissioners reviewed and approved payroll dockets (Jan. 9 and Jan. 23) and multiple claims dockets covering utilities, postage, court, highway, visa and other items. The meeting was then adjourned and documents show attestation by Auditor Jennifer Welsh.
