Campton selectmen approve municipal software down payment, driveway rules, HR handbook and a $10,000 donation

The Campton Board of Selectmen on Aug. 5 approved several administrative items during a meeting that ran from 4:34 p.m. to 6:25 p.m.
The board approved an $8,062.50 down payment from the Office Technology Fund to Edmunds GovTech for municipal management software implementation scheduled for March 1, 2025. Selectman Sharon Davis moved the payment; Selectman Mort Donahue seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board adopted local driveway regulations per statute, authorizing culvert installations where necessary and where culverts affect roads; Selectman Sharon Davis moved adoption, Vice Chair Craig Engel seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. TA Kate O'Connor clarified the town will focus on culverts that have failed and are affecting road conditions.
The board approved the HR Personnel and Policy Handbook, which TA O'Connor said will become effective Jan. 1, 2025 after formatting corrections. The board agreed that exit interviews for TA-supervised employees will be conducted by the Board of Selectmen rather than the police chief.
Selectman Karl Kelly moved and the board accepted a $10,000 donation from Mt. Prospect Academy to fund the Campton Police Department Comfort Dog Program; the motion passed unanimously. TA O'Connor said she would double-check whether Chief Foss had already sent a thank-you letter.
Consent-agenda votes earlier in the meeting approved revised July 22 regular minutes and non-public minutes; both measures passed with Selectman Mort Donahue recorded as abstaining on each vote.
