Committee approves exterior renovations for Best Built at 3100 Holmgren Way with staff conditions

The Ashwaubenon Site Plan Review Committee on July 7 recommended approval of proposed exterior renovations for Best Built, Inc., at 3100 Holmgren Way, subject to staff conditions.

Planning staff described the work as a second phase of exterior improvements similar to those approved previously for a neighboring building. Materials will include stone veneer, brick and exterior insulation finish system (EIFS). Staff read conditions limiting use of EIFS: "Use of exterior insulation finish system or EFIS is limited to 30% of the building's cumulative wall surface area, and no 1 wall surface elevation can exceed 40% EIFS." Staff also said the site plan was revised to remove a parking encroachment into the Holmgren Way right-of-way, required conventional or mountable curbing where new paving is not directly abutting neighboring drive areas, and required compliance with Ashwaubenon site plan review and village ordinances. From public safety, staff noted that buildings must have a Knox key box installed "5 foot from grade and within 5 feet of the main entrance on the address side of the building."

A committee member complimented the proposed improvements, and the committee approved the site plan with staff conditions by voice vote; the transcript records "motion carried." Representatives of Best Built were present in the audience but no public testimony is recorded in the transcript. The committee’s recommendation will be processed per normal permitting and ordinance compliance steps.
