The Ashwaubenon Site Plan Review Committee on July 7 recommended approval of a request for a third wall sign for the District Pour House at 686 Mike McCarthy Way.
Staff member presented the request, saying the business already has two signs and that a proposed third sign on the building’s west elevation — with an arrow directing people around the corner — would be "well within the, 10% threshold, for a building of this size" and would not face residential properties. "Village staff does, recommend approval, of the 3rd wall sign," the staff member said, adding "And there are no conditions." The staff presentation also noted surrounding land uses, including commercial properties to the north in the City of Green Bay and nearby Sports Entertainment (SE) zoning to the east, south and west.
The chair called for a motion; a committee member moved and the chair recorded a second. The committee approved the recommendation by voice vote ('aye'); the record notes "motion carried." Staff cautioned that the committee’s action is a recommendation only: "this is a recommendation only, because it is in Sports Entertainment District. It does have to go to Planning Commission and Village Board, for final approval."
The committee did not record individual roll-call votes in the transcript; the approval was taken as a voice vote. Representatives of the District Pour House and of a nearby development were noted in the audience but no public testimony is recorded in the transcript. The matter will proceed to the Planning Commission and Village Board for final action.
