Council approves redevelopment plan for Sloan Ave., accepts consent agenda and introduces several ordinances
Summary
At its Feb. 10 meeting the council adopted the redevelopment plan for 325 Sloan Ave., approved consent-agenda items CA1–CA30, discussed a $100,000 basketball-court project with a $25,000 Green Acres grant and introduced multiple ordinances including a $200,000 capital improvement for the Plymouth Municipal Court roof.
Hamilton Township Council took several formal actions and introduced multiple ordinances during its regular meeting on Feb. 10.
What passed
- Redevelopment plan (Ordinance 26-004): Council closed public comment and moved the ordinance to adoption on second reading, enabling the redevelopment plan for 325 Sloan Avenue (the former AMC theater) to move forward. The planning board previously found the plan consistent with the township master plan.
- Consent agenda (CA1–CA30): Council approved the consent agenda, which included appointments to boards, grant applications (including steps for the basketball-court Green Acres/rec grant), multiple vendor contracts for the Nottingham Ballroom, equipment purchases (street sweeper, tractor), professional-service agreements and refunds. One member noted an abstention on CA21 because of a working relationship with a listed law firm.

Procedure and next steps
For items introduced on first reading, council members will schedule second readings and public hearings as required by local ordinance. Several items (notably the CHOP redevelopment plan) will require planning-board site-plan review and outside-agency approvals before construction can commence.
