RSU 18 recognizes Mid Maine technical-center students who medaled at state skills competition

Principal Scott Hallett introduced seven students from RSU 18 who participated in the Mid Maine technical center state skills competition and asked the board to recognize their achievements.
"We have seven students with us tonight," Principal Scott Hallett said, then named participants and medalists: Samantha Stevens earned a silver medal in nurse assisting; Veil Gosselin took silver in emergency medical technician; Neveah Harland won gold in emergency medical technician; Matthew Reardon and Nathan Kirk competed in robotics urban search and rescue; David Trembly competed in digital cinema; and Jocelyn Ireland also participated.
A staff member praised the district's career-technical education (CTE) offerings and the opportunity for students to earn dual-enrollment credits. "One of the things about CTE is the opportunities it gives to kids," the staff member said, adding that the program opens pathways to both trades and lifelong skills.
Board members applauded the students' accomplishments and thanked them for attending. The recognition concluded with the board thanking staff and the principal for facilitating student participation.
