Decatur hands out 2027 budget schedule; council designates representative for AIC tax meeting

Chair (Speaker 4) briefed the council on an intergovernmental effort organized by the AIC to discuss major income-tax changes slated for 2029 and asked the council to designate a representative for an informational session at the annex on Wednesday the 15th at 2:30 p.m. Committee member (Speaker 1) volunteered to attend the initial session but said they could not commit to daytime continuing meetings; the council agreed a representative should attend the first meeting.
City staff emphasized the importance of having budget forms and presentations ready on the schedule dates so the council can meet statutory timelines for readings and adoption.
