Town Manager Andrew Morris presented the MS proclamation (Attachment A); Councilman Chris Bower moved to adopt it, Councilwoman Lisa Thompson seconded, and the council voted unanimously in favor.
Vice Mayor Chris Bond moved, and Councilman Bruce Turner seconded, to appoint Town Manager Andrew Morris to the New River Valley Housing Trust Fund; that appointment carried on a unanimous vote. On a separate motion, Councilman Bruce Turner moved and Councilman Chris Bower seconded approval of a parade permit filed by Springhouse Community School for an Earth Day parade proposed for April 18, 2026; Town Manager Morris reported that Sheriff Craig and the Virginia Department of Transportation had approved the proposed route, and the council voted unanimously to approve the permit.
All recorded votes at the meeting were unanimous. Several agenda items were approved as presented; no additional conditions or amendments were recorded in the minutes.
