Floyd Council appoints Lisa Thompson to interim seat, approves amended minutes

The Floyd Town Council unanimously appointed Lisa Thompson to fill the council seat vacated by Councilman LeMay and approved amended minutes at its Feb. 5, 2026, meeting.
Mayor Will Griffin announced the appointment after Vice Mayor Chris Bond moved and Councilman Chris Bower seconded the nomination. The council resolved “to appoint Lisa Thompson to serve on the Town Council through the interim term of 2027 or until the next special election in November 2026,” and the motion carried on a 4–0 roll-call vote.
Later in the meeting the council approved amended minutes for Dec. 18, 2025 (updated to include motions from closed sessions) and the minutes from Jan. 15, 2026. Vice Mayor Bond moved the consent action and Councilman Bower seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The actions were routine items on the agenda; the council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Profitt House Community Room at Floyd Town Hall.
