Deuel County approves warrants, routine purchases and sheriff vehicle repair

Deuel County Commissioners on July 7 approved payment of warrants, authorized several routine purchases and approved a repair for a sheriff’s patrol vehicle.
The board approved purchasing Grazon PD3 herbicide for $4,692 and Chaprel for $96 from Agri Partners on a motion by Commissioner Scott Fieber, seconded by Commissioner Steve Rhody. Commissioners also approved adding Kristine Guttormsson to the county’s bank accounts (motion by Commissioner Judith Homan, seconded by Chairman Jay Grabow).
Sheriff Cory Borg reported a patrol vehicle had been damaged by a deer; the county’s insurance estimate was $7,315.90 with a $1,000 deductible. The board compared two local repair quotes—Crooks Collision at $6,523.28 and Countryside Auto at $6,255.76—and approved the Countryside Auto quote on a motion by Commissioner Harry Mewherter, seconded by Commissioner Scott Fieber.
The board also approved payment of warrants as presented. The warrant list included a $75,000 funding item to Deuel County Ambulance Inc and multiple large line items for road overlay and county services; the meeting minutes list vendor names and amounts as presented to the commission.
