Pleasant Grove council approves travel advances, a $2,500 grant and school-use agreements

The Pleasant Grove City Council on July 6 unanimously approved several routine measures, including travel advances, a small grant acceptance and intergovernmental agreements to continue municipal use of local school facilities.

At the start of business, the council recorded a motion by Councilor Ladson, seconded by Councilor Wilkerson, to approve the minutes; the motion passed unanimously. The council then approved Resolution 2026-40 to accept a $2,500 grant, which S2 described as supporting a community event; S2 and other councilors thanked staff for securing the funding.

Councilors also approved Resolution 2026-41, authorizing travel advances for Mayor Yolanda Lawson and attorney Cheryl Key to attend the 2026 annual legislative conference, and Resolution 2026-42, authorizing travel advances for Mayor Pro Tem Regina Van Williams and additional councilors to attend a summer conference. Both measures passed by unanimous vote after floor motions and seconds.

On intergovernmental agreements, the council granted unanimous consent to consider and then approve agreements allowing the municipal use of Pleasant Grove High School and Pleasant Grove Elementary School for the period 07/01/2026–06/30/2027. S2 told the council the agreements are routine and will allow continued city use of the schools at no cost to the city.

All votes reported at the meeting were unanimous; no roll-call tallies with individual yes/no names were recorded in the meeting transcript.
