The Town of Four Oaks Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Aug. 19 to rezone a parcel at 4040 U.S. Highway 301 S. from R8-5S to B2-H, the board said.
Mayor Vic Medlin opened the legislative public hearing and said the item had been discussed in the June meeting. Petitioner and owner Chad Stewart requested the rezoning for parcel #08J110234. There were no additional questions or public comments during the hearing, and Commissioner Mike Hines moved to approve the request; Commissioner Tony Capps seconded. The board voted unanimously in favor.
The rezoning changes the parcel’s zoning designation from a residential district to a highway-oriented business district, as reflected in the motion the board approved. Mayor Medlin closed the public hearing after the vote. The board did not record further conditions or amendments on the rezoning in the meeting minutes.
Next steps: the rezoning will be reflected in the town zoning records and take effect according to local zoning procedures.
