Kevin Hensley of the Henderson County Assessor’s Office presented statistics from the office’s five divisions and outlined the goals and schedule for the county’s 2027 reappraisal during the Feb. 12 Flat Rock council meeting.
Hensley said Henderson County conducts in-house reappraisals every four years and that the objective for 2027 is to appraise all real property at 100% of fair market value as of Jan. 1, 2027. The presentation included division-level statistics and an explanation that reappraisals establish the base for the county’s tax assessments.
Council did not take action on the reappraisal at the meeting; the presentation was informational. Village staff and council members were informed of the county timeline and aims to help anticipate fiscal and tax-collection impacts for Flat Rock residents.
