The Poestenkill Town Board on an emergency-call meeting approved a resolution appointing Laura Verzase as chairperson of the town Planning Board, April Dennis as vice chair and Steven Bellini as secretary.
The board took the action after the chair explained the items had been tabled at a previous meeting because two members were absent and a supermajority was needed. The motion to adopt the resolution was moved by the chair and confirmed by roll call; Supervisor Arpola, Councilman Oliver and Councilman Rescotte recorded votes in favor and Councilman Brzey indicated an abstention during roll call.
Town officials cited the municipal code (chapter 150, article 14, section 150-87) as the authority for the appointments. The chair said the appointments were needed to fill vacancies and allow the Planning Board to function.
The board did not expand on additional nominations at the meeting. The board proceeded to other agenda items after completing the roll call.
The town clerk is expected to publish the official minutes and the appointments will be reflected in Planning Board records.
