Board adopts three Gretna Road/Town & Country TIF ordinances
Summary
Branson aldermen gave final approval to three ordinances activating tax increment financing at three project areas in the Gretna Road and Town & Country Drive redevelopment plan. Each ordinance passed unanimously by roll call (6–0).
The Branson Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to adopt three ordinances (bills 65‑89, 65‑90 and 65‑91) to activate tax increment financing (TIF) at three project areas described in the Gretna Road and Town & Country Drive redevelopment plan.
Lindsay Polish, the city’s economic development counsel, reminded the board that the redevelopment plan had received approval previously and explained that these ordinances would begin collection of tax increment revenue at each project area. The first two project areas are primarily for developer‑led work; the third project area is for a city project area.
A roll call vote was requested for each final reading and each ordinance passed 6–0. The measures will allow the city to collect incremental property tax revenue associated with new development in the defined project areas for the durations set in the TIF plan.
