Rock Falls board approves liquor license, accepts finances, and OKs raise for cemetery caretaker

Treasurer Frisch reported a General Fund balance of $16,609.19 and a Money Market balance of $51,119.71. Chairman Neubauer moved to accept the treasurer's report; Supervisor Swan seconded the motion and it carried.
Clerk Chambers said a recent metal-recycling event was not successful and the board agreed to cancel future metal-recycling events "until the need arises." The clerk also reported the town had received a state recycling grant for $1,100.02; Chairman Neubauer moved to accept the grant and Supervisor Niersel seconded the motion, which carried.
The board approved a liquor and operator's license application from an establishment identified in the minutes as "Jeb's." Chairman Neubauer moved to approve the license; Supervisor Niersel seconded and the motion carried.
On personnel, the board discussed Eugene Williams' responsibilities maintaining the cemetery and serving as sextant and agreed he should receive a raise. The minutes record a motion to approve a raise; the board said it will determine the figure as part of next year's budget process.
Operational announcements included a road inspection scheduled for June 13, 2026, at 10 a.m., and a reminder that there will be no recycling pickup on July 4, 2026. The meeting closed with a reminder to residents that recycling occurs the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays and that recycling bins are under surveillance; the minutes note residents should direct questions to "Angie," who is on duty during recycling hours.
Public comment recorded a resident, Kelly Gleisner, advising caution when traveling on or entering Highway 107. The board adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
