Boonsboro swears in Council Member David Wade; Council appoints Ricky Weaver as assistant treasurer

The Town of Boonsboro convened a swearing-in ceremony Monday evening, July 6, where Washington County Clerk of Circuit Court Kevin Tucker administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Council Member David Wade.
Mayor Howard Long welcomed Wade following the oath. Town Manager Rachel Souders recorded that Mayor Long, Assistant Mayor Tony Nally, Council Members Eric Kitchen, Marilee Kerns, Ray Hanson, Ricky Weaver and Matt Small were in attendance along with incoming Council Member David Wade.
After the swearing-in, Mayor Long said the council needed to appoint a new Assistant Treasurer to replace Eric Kitchen and recommended Council Member Ricky Weaver for the role. Council Member Marilee Kerns moved to appoint Weaver and Council Member Ray Hanson seconded the motion. The motion carried with Council Member Ricky Weaver recorded as abstaining from the vote.
Later in the meeting, Council Member Ricky Weaver moved to adjourn at 7:06 p.m.; Council Member Matt Small seconded and the motion carried, closing the brief ceremony.
