WALDO, Wis. — After convening a budget meeting on Oct. 13, the Village of Waldo Board of Trustees entered closed session under SS. 19.85(1)(c) to discuss 2026 employee wages and later approved wage adjustments in open session.
Trustee Michael Hintz moved and Trustee Joshua Behr seconded a motion to enter closed session at 7:31 p.m. under SS. 19.85(1)(c) (considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of public employees). The roll-call vote recorded Behr, Reinemann, Hintz and President Travis Thomas as voting aye; Trustee Jerome Hammarlund was absent. The board reconvened in open session at 7:42 p.m.
President Travis Thomas moved to approve the 2026 employee wage adjustments discussed in closed session, including a 3.5% increase for all employees and an adjustment to the Clerk/Treasurer position to be charged to the Utility Fund; Trustee Michael Hintz seconded and the motion carried. The board reviewed the drafted 2026 budget and made no changes during the working session. The board confirmed the 2026 budget public hearing for Nov. 10, 2025 at 5:45 p.m.
The wage decision will be incorporated into payroll and the 2026 budget. The board adjourned the budget meeting at 8:45 p.m.
