Waldo trustees approve Mowtown engineering, adopt local ordinances and sign county sales-tax agreement

The Village of Waldo Board of Trustees on Sept. 8 approved a series of development steps, local ordinances and an intergovernmental revenue agreement.
Trustee Dennis Reinemann moved to hire Donahou Engineering to complete engineering work for the Mowtown Drive development. President Travis Thomas amended the motion to require that finished engineering be sent to the Plan Commission for review; Trustee Michael Hintz seconded the amended motion and it carried. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the minutes beyond —the motion carried.—
The trustees also approved operator's licenses for Valerie King and Julia Hofmann to work at Wicked Spirits after Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Gillette reported both background checks were clear. Trustee Reinemann moved for approval; Trustee Jerry Hammarlund seconded and the motion carried.
Clerk/Treasurer Gillette explained a Sheboygan County sales tax revenue-sharing agreement that allocates a percentage of county sales tax to municipalities; Trustee Michael Hintz moved to approve and Trustee Reinemann seconded. The board voted to sign the agreement.
The board adopted Resolution 2025-12 to establish annual Trick-or-Treat hours (4-7 p.m. on the Saturday before Halloween, except when Halloween is a Saturday, in which case Trick-or-Treat will be on Halloween from 4-7 p.m.). The board tabled Ordinance 2025-11 relating to noise and amplified sound. The trustees approved Ordinance 2025-13 to amend village and Waldo Millpond Park hours and adopted Ordinance 2025-01 designating all-terrain and utility-terrain vehicle routes; President Thomas said the ATV/UTV ordinance incorporates a fee recommendation from Cascade Police Chief Jason Liermann.
On financial matters, Trustee Michael Hintz moved to approve vouchers numbered 16872-16890 and online payroll liabilities totaling $16,854.31; Trustee Jerry Hammarlund seconded and the motion carried. The board also approved the treasurer's report as presented.
What happens next: engineering for Mowtown Drive will proceed with a Plan Commission review; the county revenue-sharing agreement will be signed; the tabled noise ordinance will return for later consideration.
