The Maysville Board of Aldermen approved several routine and operational items at its June 8 meeting. Alderman Larry Zieber moved to approve the consent agenda, including the May 25 minutes and payment of listed checks; Alderman Amy Justus seconded and the motion carried.
In a separate action aimed at reducing outsourcing costs, the board approved purchasing a concrete mixer after John (staff) presented prices to allow small on-site repairs. Alderman Darrell Conley moved for the purchase; Alderman Amy Justus seconded and the motion carried.
The board voted to close the city's COVID account after the grant funding ended and to transfer any accrued interest to the general fund. Alderman Darrell Conley made the motion, seconded by Alderman Larry Zieber; the motion carried.
Members also approved increasing fishing permit fees to $20, effective July 1, 2026. Alderman Darrell Conley moved the fee increase, Alderman Amy Justus seconded, and Clerk Pat Fisher was directed to order signage stating "fishing by permit only."
