At the Aug. 12 meeting Village staff presented estimates and options for building repairs, security, and election equipment as part of the Board’s capital planning.
Public Works discussed spray-foam roof replacement options; staff agreed to bring two quotes forward for consideration at the upcoming budget meeting after reviewing expected lifespan, warranty, and costs. The 2005 TK Sterling garbage truck sale for $16,210 was recorded as completed Aug. 4, 2025.
The Board reviewed two soffit/overhang repair estimates (MQ Roofing: $2,790; Larson Keeney: $4,299) and asked MQ Roofing for a revised estimate that clarifies start date and whether beam covering is included; the Board discussed coordinating soffit work with a future roof replacement to avoid rework.
Staff briefed trustees on a free 90-day trial of two Verkada security-camera models to be installed for assessment of long-term security needs and to provide coverage during the Cranberry Festival; minutes note the cameras were installed Aug. 18, 2025 for the trial period. The Board also discussed painting parking lot lines near the Three Bears Resort area (estimated ~$700) and agreed to schedule work after the busy season.
On elections equipment, Board minutes state that Command Central offered a trade-in of the village’s ICX voting machine for an ICE machine that complies with VVSG 2.0 and recent executive orders; staff estimated a current trade-in cost of approximately $400 versus potentially much higher costs if deferred until the 2027–2028 required timeframe. A recorded motion (J. Le Mere moved; A. Werner second) carried 7-0.
