Maysville aldermen approve consent agenda, permit Windy Wine for Country Harvest

The Maysville Board of Aldermen on May 26 approved its consent agenda and granted a permit for Windy Wine to be on the town square during the upcoming Country Harvest event.
Alderman Amy Justus moved to approve the consent agenda, which included the minutes of the May 11, 2026 meeting and checks for multiple funds (Water checks 7191–7195; Wastewater 3693–3701; Street 4650–4657; General 22303–22314; Park 1277–1278; and Payroll 11390–11406). Alderman Darrell Conley seconded the motion, and it carried.
The board also approved a request to allow Windy Wine on the square during Country Harvest from 5 p.m. to the end of the event Friday and Saturday nights. Alderman Darrell Conley moved the permit; Alderman Larry Zieber seconded and the motion carried.
The board reviewed an anonymous, unsigned email from a resident and determined the correspondence lacked correct facts. City Clerk Pat Fisher asked the board to consider moving future meetings to 5:00 p.m. so meetings conclude earlier and staff are not required to stay as late; the board agreed to make that scheduling change at the next meeting. The board set its next regular meeting for June 8, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
With no further business, Mayor Peggy Harwood adjourned the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
