The Legislative Post Audit committee approved its consent calendar, which included acceptance of the industrial revenue bond and extracurricular activities audits presented that day, two IT security audits, and two proposed limited‑scope 100‑hour requests. Minutes from the May 18 meeting were approved with abstentions from Representative Clayton and Senator Petty.
After an objection and discussion, the committee voted to proceed with a limited‑scope 100‑hour follow‑up to review implementation of recommendations at the Kansas Office of Veterans Services; Senator Tyson moved the motion and Senator Clay seconded. Committee staff said the 100‑hour designation is a maximum and actual hours will depend on scope.
Matt Edsall reviewed the consent items and stood for questions. Committee members asked for clarification on timing and costs for audits; staff said cost is primarily opportunity cost and that they would supply follow‑up information by letter.
The committee also scheduled a tentative late‑September meeting to consider upcoming releases and the audit office budget and adjourned.
