Warrens caucus nominates three candidates for trustee seats; ballot order set

The Village of Warrens held a caucus on Jan. 13, 2026, at Village Hall to nominate candidates for the three Village Trustee seats up for the April 7, 2026 Spring Election. The meeting, called to order at 6:15 p.m., was conducted under Wis. Stat. § 8.05.
Minutes list Alana Werner, Patrick Hardiman and Terri Swope as the qualified electors present who signed in to verify eligibility. J. Krultz provided an overview of the nomination process, explaining how nominations would be taken, when a vote would be required and how ballot order would be determined.
Nominations produced three nominees for three open seats. The minutes record the following: Terri Swope was nominated by Alana Werner and seconded by Patrick Hardiman; Alana Werner was nominated by Patrick Hardiman and seconded by Jeff Le Mere; and Patrick Hardiman was nominated by Jeff Le Mere and seconded by Peter Malinger. No additional nominations were made.
Because the number of nominees equaled the number of positions, the minutes state no vote was required to reduce the slate and that all nominees were officially nominated in accordance with state statute. A random name generator was used to set ballot order for candidates who had submitted paperwork by the caucus: the order was recorded as 1) Alana Werner, 2) Patrick Hardiman, 3) Terri Swope.
The clerk will notify each nominee of the deadline to file a Campaign Registration Statement (CF-1) and a Declaration of Candidacy (EL-162) within five days, as required by Wis. Stat. § 8.05(1)(b). The caucus adjourned at 6:45 p.m. The agenda and minutes note that the agenda was posted at least 24 hours prior under Wis. Stat. § 19.84; posting locations and the posting timestamp are recorded in the minutes.
Next steps: nominees must file required candidate paperwork within the statutory five-day period to appear on the April 7, 2026 ballot. The clerk is listed as the point of contact for filing and accessibility accommodations.
