The Town of Pike Road council approved discretionary funding for two community recreation projects during its Jan. 12 meeting.
Councilman Rob Steindorff moved to fund resurfacing of an existing playground at the request of “PRES PTS” for $7,000 and added a request from the High School to prepare baseball and softball fields for the upcoming season for about $7,700. Councilman Doug Fuhrman seconded the motion and the updated request was approved by unanimous vote.
The two items were discussed together after Steindorff introduced the playground request and amended his motion to include the high school field work. The transcript identifies the school request only as “High School” and does not provide a school name.
The council did not record individual dissent; the motion passed by unanimous consent. The council did not specify a funding source during the meeting.
The council’s approval follows routine maintenance and discretionary funding processes discussed during prior meetings; no amendments or follow-up assignments were recorded on the motion in the minutes.
