Board approves anti-bullying self-assessment, maintenance-plan submission and routine personnel votes

At the Oct. 16 meeting the board approved multiple items on the agenda, including the district's Department of Education school self-assessment for the Anti‑Bullying Bill of Rights Act and administrative submissions required by the New Jersey Department of Education.
Mrs. DeMeo (speaker 21) summarized the district's self-assessment results, stating the district scored 77 out of 78 points on the self‑assessment tool, with high marks across elementary, intermediate and high‑school levels. After that presentation the board moved and approved the resolution to submit the self‑assessment.
The board also approved a motion to submit the M‑1 comprehensive maintenance plan and the capital reserve calculator to the state Department of Education. The clerk recorded motions and roll-call votes for these items; approval votes were recorded and the motions passed.
Several routine items were approved by roll call: first reading of listed policies and regulations, certification of the August 2024 board secretary report, agenda items numbered 15 through 20, personnel agenda items 1 through 25 and addenda 26 through 32 (a recusal was recorded for an intermediate South winter coaching recommendation), and educational program agenda items 1 through 8. Board members moved and seconded the items in the sequence listed on the agenda and the meeting transcript records affirmative roll‑call votes.
The board did not take any final action on the updated PE policy (Policy 2422) beyond placing it on first reading; final adoption will require a future vote.
