Committee members asked how many chamber members are St John residents and whether an events calendar is publicly available; the chamber replied an online calendar exists but that some events change year to year. The chamber said it currently has one part-time staff member, Tara, who works roughly 20 hours a week from an office upstairs near Welch's and handles initial inquiries, with board members following up as needed.
Members and chamber representatives discussed using existing town communications to amplify chamber notices, specifically the Clerk Treasurer's newsletter and the town Facebook page. One committee member suggested the chamber provide short "two-minute" updates at lunch or meetings to keep the committee informed of developments. The chamber noted membership is "hovering right around 250," but the exact number of members from within St John was not specified.
The presentation also included examples of past collaborations with nearby towns and organizations, and the chamber invited the committee to share contacts and email lists so the two bodies can coordinate outreach and event promotion.
