The Town of Pike Road council conducted routine business at its Dec. 17 meeting, accepting the minutes from Dec. 8, 2025, deferring an auditor's report, requesting updates on volunteer fire department boards and noting county-level sales-tax discussions on education, before adjourning at 7:25 AM.
Councilman Doug Fuhrman moved to accept the Dec. 8 minutes; Councilman Marcus Robinson seconded and the minutes were approved by unanimous consent. Denna Caro of Carr, Riggs & Ingram was not present to present the November 2025 report; the council recorded that the report will be presented together with December 2025 in January 2026.
Councilwoman Angie Bradsher asked for an update on current Volunteer Fire Department board members. Mark Williams said he would reach out to identify who currently serves on each VFD board. Mayor Gordon Coff Stone noted that, with assistance from Councilwoman Bradsher, he has been working with the county on a one-cent sales tax dedicated to education and said the town hopes to find a remedy to cover any shortfall if the tax is reduced.
With no further business, Councilman Doug Fuhrman moved to adjourn at 7:25 AM; Councilwoman Angie Bradsher seconded and the meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent.
