Commission recommends rezoning of Chestnut Heights Lots 4–6 on Easy Street

The Fulton City Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended on March 10 that the City Council approve rezoning Lots 4, 5 and 6 of the Chestnut Heights Subdivision on Easy Street from R‑1 Residential to R‑2 Residential.
Joshua Glover of River Valley Properties spoke during the public hearing to clarify the request, saying the developer plans to build duplexes on those lots and has no plans for apartment complexes. He also said traffic access would remain on Easy Street. No opponents spoke during the hearing.
Commission Chair Joan Berry‑Morris and commissioners discussed the precise area to be rezoned; a motion by Commissioner Les Hudson, seconded by Commissioner Mike Eibel, passed with unanimous support from members present. The clerk’s post‑meeting note states that while supporting materials referenced a larger tract, the applicant, Jake Long, later confirmed he was agreeable to proceeding only with rezoning Lots 4–6 on Easy Street; supporting documents in the file include the subdivision plat and assessor map. The commission’s recommendation will be considered by the City Council for final action.
