Lynn Township adopts community solar and nuisance ordinances, approves subdivision, bids and resolutions

The Lynn Township Board of Supervisors, meeting April 10, 2025, voted on a series of ordinances, resolutions, bids and appointments that will shape planning, public works and environmental initiatives in the township.
The board adopted Ordinance 2025-01, which establishes rules and definitions for community solar energy systems, on a motion by Vice Chairman Frederick Najarian seconded by Ronald Jerdon. Solicitor Marc Fisher opened a public hearing with no comments before the board voted to adopt the ordinance.
The board also adopted Ordinance 2025-02 to prohibit nuisances and set notification procedures and penalties; the motion was made by Ronald Jerdon and seconded by Frederick Najarian and carried unanimously.
On land‑use matters, the board approved six SALDO waivers and granted final conditional approval to the Bennicoff subdivision contingent on receipt of the required planning module. The motion granting conditional final approval was made by Ronald Jerdon and seconded by Frederick Najarian.
The board appointed Eric Herb of KCE as the township’s alternate sewage enforcement officer (SEO) on a motion by Frederick Najarian, seconded by Ronald Jerdon.
Financial and procurement actions included renewal of two certificates of deposit for seven months at 4.19% (with a decision to renew or transfer a third CD after 91 days) and acceptance of the township’s 2025 road material bids and the lowest highlighted stone bids. The board also accepted joint line‑painting and joint oil bids for Heidelberg, Lowhill, Lynn and Weisenberg on motions by board members; both procurement motions carried unanimously.
The board approved Resolution 2025‑11 to include two Gross family parcels in the Agricultural Security Area. The Lynn Township Environmental Advisory Council mission statement was accepted and the board approved Resolution 2025‑12 to adopt initiatives to seek recognition as a Pennsylvania Audubon Council Bird Town; that resolution passed with Chairman Brian C. Dietrich recorded as opposed.
The meeting concluded with routine announcements and adjournment at 8:16 p.m. The board did not record roll‑call tallies for most motions beyond noting unanimous passage or a single recorded opposition.
