Fulton council accepts financial and administrative reports, confirms appointments and moves to executive session

The City of Fulton Council voted March 24 to accept administrative and financial reports and to approve a set of routine consent items and appointments.
Director of Administration Courtney L. Doyle presented the February DOA report and noted completion of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) closeout and ongoing coordination with the Callaway County Health Department. The council voted to accept the report.
Chief Financial Officer Candy Johnson presented the February financial statement and reported sales tax collections were up approximately 3.3% compared with the prior year while use tax collections were down; overall performance was described as consistent with expectations. The council accepted the statement by recorded vote.
The consent agenda approved minutes from the Feb. 24 meeting and several special-event permits, including CARDV’s April 7 event, the FHS Prom Promenade on April 25, the YMCA Spring Chicken 5K on May 2, and the FHS Senior Parade on May 15. The council also appointed Carol Pierson and Keli Tate to partial four-year terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission through June 2029.
During council concerns, members reported on upcoming community events and board activity. Councilman Bob Washington asked about Carver Street conditions; staff said the street is scheduled for asphalt overlay this summer. Councilwoman Lauren Nelson reported the wastewater treatment plant project is scheduled to begin in June, is expected to take about eleven months, and is currently under budget.
The council announced its next regular meeting for April 14, 2026. Later in the evening the council voted to enter executive session under Section 610.021(1), RSMo at 7:18 p.m.; roll call recorded seven yes votes and one absence. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
