Fulton City Public Utility Board approves minutes and financial report, reviews IMGA logistics and recycling update

The Fulton City Public Utility Board met March 23 and approved the Jan. 26, 2026 minutes and accepted the February financial report. Jacque Cowherd moved to approve the minutes, which Mike Shindler seconded; the motion carried with all members voting in favor. Cowherd also moved to accept the financial report; Don Masek seconded that motion and it carried unanimously.
Chief Financial Officer Candy Johnson gave a brief overview of the financial report for board members, according to the minutes. The board discussed travel logistics for members attending the IMGA meeting: attendees will meet at City Hall at 7:30 a.m. to carpool, and the IMGA meeting begins at 9 a.m. with presentations on preplanning gas usage and gas production.
Under other new business, the minutes note the city maintains one public recycling container at the Police Department and is considering adding additional containers. The minutes also report that about 20% of recycling carts were returned to the city after the recycling rate increased in January; the minutes do not detail the reasons why residents returned carts.
The board recorded no need for an executive session. The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 27 at 1:00 p.m. Richard Vaughn moved to adjourn at 1:40 p.m.; Don Masek seconded and the motion carried with all members voting in favor.
