At its February 2026 meeting the Fenton board committee approved the city's annual municipal tax rate and a suite of routine administrative items, including a special-event permit, software cost payment and an internal reorganization.
Finance reported a December 31 cash-and-investments total of $29,549,297. Staff brought forward the annual approval of the 2026 municipal tax rate for real and personal property. Alderman Lang moved to approve the tax rate; Alderman Hills seconded the motion and it carried on a voice vote.
The committee also handled several other formal actions: Planning & Zoning recommendations were forwarded to the next regular board meeting for public hearing and consideration; the committee approved a special-event permit for a Saint Paul Catholic Church/"Friends of the Poor" walk/run after staff confirmed insurance; and the board approved a required cost payment to retain older municipal court records in an existing system after Regis raised its fees.
A final motion adopted a reorganization chart for the Parks and Recreation Department. The board closed the public portion of the meeting and voted to enter an executive session under the statute cited on the record for legal actions/litigation.
