Miami R-I Board approves agenda, moves regular November meeting to Nov. 19

The Miami R-I Board of Education met in a special session on Nov. 4, 2025; President Richie Powell called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. during a brief agenda of procedural business.
Board member Les Nieder moved to approve the meeting agenda; Melanie Schaller seconded. The board voted 4–0 in favor of the motion. Shortly afterward, Nieder moved to move the regular November board meeting to Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Miami District Board Room; Dea Erickson seconded and the motion carried 4–0.
Les Nieder then moved to adjourn the regular session at 4:32 p.m.; Melanie Schaller seconded and the board approved the motion unanimously. The minutes of the Nov. 4 special meeting were recorded as submitted for approval on Nov. 19, 2025. The minutes were reported by Lisa Filtingberger, Secretary, with an approval signature line for President Richie Powell.
No public visitors were recorded for the special meeting. Others listed as present were Dr. Daniel Johnson and Secretary Lisa Filtingberger. The board listed three absent members: Devyn Henkle, Grant West and Timothy Walker. The board did not take any substantive policy votes or make new appointments during this brief session.
