Hackberry board adopts FMLA advisory changes, approves Student Council mission and tables multiple advisory-policy sets

On Sept. 9 the Hackberry Elementary School District #3 Governing Board approved targeted revisions to Advisory Policy GCCC-EC (Family and Medical Leave Act guidance) to clarify job restoration language, change wording to require restoration to an original or equivalent position, and remove language that conflicted with federal provisions on accrued benefits.
Pam Adams moved and Valerie Grimes seconded the motion to revise the advisory FMLA policy; the motion passed 3-0. The minutes note that some policy provisions (for example, eligibility thresholds) do not apply to the district's size but remain in the advisory policy because they mirror federal verbatim language.
The board also approved a Student Council mission statement presented by the Student Council President and Vice President; that item was moved in the agenda and adopted by motion (Pam Adams moved, Leanne Donason seconded) and passed 3-0. Several advisory-policy groupings were tabled for the next meeting by routine motion: Nos. 792–800, 801–807, 809–818 and 909–914; each tabling motion recorded as passing 3-0.
