Hackberry board approves stipends, hires and operational plans including cyber incident response

Hackberry Elementary School District #3’s board approved a slate of personnel and operational items at the July 8 meeting, including a stipend for a lead teacher, a new custodian hire and several administrative authorizations and plans.
On motions that passed 5-0, the board approved a $5,000 stipend for Debbie Lund to serve as Lead Teacher/Mentor Teacher for SY25-26; appointed Samuel (Sam) Dell as Student Activities Treasurer for 2025–26; and authorized Christina Ramirez and Samuel Dell as administrators on the district’s Wells Fargo credit card for FY26. The board also approved hiring Magdelena Baker as a part-time custodian for SY25-26.
The board approved an Administration Evaluation Tool for SY25-26 and approved revisions to the Student and Parent Handbook and the Employee Handbook for the coming school year, each by unanimous voice vote. Trustees also approved the Cyber Incident Plan and Media Response Plan, and the Emergency Operations Plan, all intended to strengthen operational readiness and communications for the upcoming year.
Superintendent Christina Ramirez noted school-year preparations are on track, and Back to School Night is scheduled for July 17. Implementation tasks, such as onboarding the custodian and executing card-administration procedures, were assigned to district staff.
