Commissioner Minty urges Highway 97 safety push, outlines homelessness and wildfire preparedness efforts

Minty said commissioners from Deschutes and Jefferson counties have offered strong support and that Tribal Chairman Ray expressed interest in joining the legislative advocacy effort. He said he is coordinating meetings at the state Capitol as the short legislative session begins.
Minty also described a stakeholder concept called “A Bridge to Tomorrow,” aimed at connecting resources to address houselessness, and said he would attend a North County meeting later in the week on wildfire resiliency and preparedness given concerns about a potentially severe wildfire season.
