The Hackberry Elementary School District No. 3 governing board on Sept. 29 approved a contract to hire Sythnia Mariscal as a full-time secretary for the 2025–26 school year, voting 4-0 after briefly entering an executive session for personnel matters.
Superintendent/Principal Christina Ramirez opened the special meeting at 9:00 a.m. at Cedar Hills School in Kingman and recorded roll call including board members Tammy Herrera, Pam Adams, Charla Loomis and Valerie Grimes, plus Business Manager Sam Dell. The agenda was approved early in the meeting on a 4-0 vote after a motion by governing board member Pam Adams and a second by Charla Loomis.
Under new business the board considered the proposed full-time secretary contract for Sythnia Mariscal. Governing board member Valerie Grimes moved to go into executive session for personnel matters; Tammy Herrera seconded and the motion passed 4-0. After the executive session, Pam Adams moved to approve the contract for Sythnia Mariscal as full-time secretary for school year 2025–26; Charla Loomis seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
The minutes list a report schedule that included Business Manager Sam Dell and Administrator/Superintendent Christina Ramirez but do not record the contents of those reports. The meeting adjourned at 9:25 a.m. on a motion by Valerie Grimes, seconded by Charla Loomis; that vote also passed 4-0.
Documents attached to the minutes certify that the meeting notice was posted at the district office on Sept. 25, 2025 and signed by Governing Board President Leanne Donason. The board noted the next scheduled meeting for Oct. 14, 2025; requests for agenda items were directed to Superintendent Christina Ramirez at cramirez@hesd.net and agendas will be posted on the district bulletin board and the district website, www.hesd.net.
