Historic board promotes community training for residents on regulations, scheduled July 28

Chris Neil, a presenter for the board, announced a public "Historic District Community Training" planned for July 28 at the transit center on the third floor and encouraged residents to attend with questions before making changes to properties.

"I handed out the historic district community training that we will be having going on July 28," Chris Neil said, adding that the session was scheduled for about 2:00–2:30 p.m. He described the training as a chance to advise residents on regulations and on how to proceed correctly before making changes to historic properties.

Neil said flyers are available at the meeting, that staff will share the announcement through the city’s public information channels and social media, and that materials will be sent to city management and other departments. A Committee member suggested mailing notices to neighborhoods with larger populations of older residents; Neil said staff would discuss the mailing budget with "Ms. Edencio" and noted prior mailed advisories had generated responses from residents who said they had not known they were in the historic district.
