The Sanbornton Conservation Commission voted Feb. 12, 2026, to accept amended language for Land Conservation Area (LCA) standards and forward the draft to the Sanbornton Planning Board for consideration. Chair Karen Bordeau moved to accept the language as amended; Brad Crosby seconded and the motion passed 5-0-0.
Commission member Brandon Deacon had circulated the final draft with tracked changes, rationales and recent input in advance of the meeting. Members discussed how to abbreviate LCA terms, the possibility of allowing LCA deferrals in certain subdivision situations, and where example figures should appear in the subdivision regulations. The group agreed edits addressed those points and clarified presentation of example figures.
The commission's action sends the draft standards to the Planning Board for its review and any further revisions before potential inclusion in the subdivision regulations. No final regulatory change was made at the Feb. 12 meeting; the Planning Board will determine next steps.
